I’d really love to get emulation properly working on my PC as I use that for Lunar Magic, and drop boxing the ROM to my laptop each time I want to playtest my hack obviously isn’t gonna cut it.Īny insight to this issue would be greatly appreciated.RetroArch is the flagship project for libretro, however there are plenty of other available frontends. What’s really infuriating on top of all this, is that my comparatively puny 13¨ MacBook Pro pulls off SNES emulation flawlessly running on a mobile dual core i5 with integrated gfx using RetroArch with BSNES, balanced core. There is no change in the actual speed of the emulation, and sound does not distort, it’s just the frames that get messed up. Whatever I do, I get these spikes of annoying and frequent stuttering. I’ve visited my GPU settings, making sure my display updates at exactly 60HZ, I’ve tried to force V-sync directly through Nvidia’s settings, both double and triple buffered. RetroArch with BSNES, Balanced core, with V-Sync on and off, both windowed, windowed fullscreen and true fullscreen. So far I’ve tried:īSNES, accuracy configuration with CPU Sync on and off What funny is I get this exact same behavior regardless of what emulator or settings I use. I have tried troubleshooting this myself for a few days but have not been successful. That is, the game will run buttery-smooth at 60 frames for a minute or two and then, at no really regular interval, it will start stuttering like crazy for 5 to 15 seconds, and then back to smooth again. The issue consists of random spikes of stuttering that occurs once or twice every minute or so. I have a problem where I am unable to get SNES emulation to run smoothly on my gaming PC. I need some troubleshooting help from this lovely community if I may, ![]()
